Mr. Hartman believes that every single person entering the court system-no matter the case or legal issue involved-needs the best representation possible. Mr. Hartman will assist every client by navigating through the complicated Rules of Evidence in both State and Federal Courts, and will fully research every legal issue and file every motion possible in an effort to obtain the best result possible for each of his clients.

Mr. Hartman truly believes in and aggressively fights for the principles upon which this country was founded-that every single person is entitled to equal justice under law and every single person within the court system is entitled to honorable and vigorous representation.

Having gained invaluable courtroom experience as a Deputy Public Defender for the County of Riverside from 2008-2012, Mr. Hartman has completed over 32 jury trials to date, and takes great pride in his legal research and persuasive writing abilities.

After obtaining his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice cum laude from Bowling Green State University; his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law; and then then the advanced and distinguished Master of Laws Degree in Criminal Law from the University of San Diego, Mr. Hartman was then sworn to practice law in the State of California and is licensed to practice in all Federal Courts with jurisdiction in the State of California as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Hartman has been published for his research on Fourth Amendment issues involving High School students, and was also the recipient of the Charles Auerbach Outstanding Student in Evidence Award for his excellent work in the application of the Rules of Evidence in litigation. His courtroom experience and litigation has recently awarded him an invitation into the prestigious association National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40, reserved for the top 40 trial lawyers in each region under 40 years old who focus on criminal defense and plaintiffs’ civil rights. This is an invitation only association, and is very honorable.

As the owner and operator of Hartman Law Office, Inc. as well as co-founder and partner of Semnar & Hartman, LLP, Mr. Hartman focuses his practice upon individual liberties in a wide array of arenas including criminal defense; prosecuting Section 1983 civil rights violations for police brutality; and consumer rights for debt collection harassment, inaccurate credit reporting, and unfairness/oppression in consumer credit scenarios.

Jodi has recently joined our team as our legal administrative assistant. Jodi brings with her over ten years of experience in various administrative and customer service related roles. Jodi is the primary point of contact for potential clients. She assists all potential clients with scheduling their free initial confidential consultation and ensuring they are properly prepared for their meeting with Mr. Semnar.

For clients who are in litigation, Jodi calendars due dates for discovery, schedules depositions, and ensures that our clients are in regular communication with Mr. Semnar.

Jodi has completed her formal education in Southern California and continues to regularly commit to further expanding her legal administrative skills. Jodi also brings a friendly and calming disposition to our office.
